On Thursday afternoon, we held our quarterly Renaissance Awards Assembly for academic achievement. 261 students had over a B average with good citizenship. On Friday, we observed the Veterans' Day holiday, and on Saturday, 50 students and teachers toured UCLA, attended the I'm Going to College outreach from UCLA in the Rose Bowl parking lot, and then watch the UCLA football game.
Many thanks to all *students, staff, and community members) who participated in the Lancer Love. A total of $12,222 was raised - to be used for library books, technology, and activities for students. The Lancer Love basket was won by the family of Osvaldo Salgado.
The library now had 168 eBooks for students to check out. Mrs. Curtis will be happy to show students how to access the eBooks on their iPads.
There seems to be a severe shortage of substitute teachers. Teachers have been gracious enough to cover classes, period by period, but we are not approving leaves (other than sick) unless we have a sub. We know it's a hardship for students and teachers.
