Hi La Cumbre Community,

Over the past week, we held an amazing Car Show on Sunday with over 70 cars, bikes, and cycles. On Tuesday evening, members of the upcoming show, Copacabana, performed at the Board of Education meeting. On Wednesday, the students played against the staff in an exciting game of flag football, that ended in a tie. Wednesday evening, Andrea "Cha" Heiden and Tony Perez were honored at the district's Night of Stars, along with Hozby Galindo. On Thursday, students were entertained by the musical group Monsieur Perine, and on Friday, teachers began to enter mid-quarter progress grades.

We completed the second week of testing, which was 8th grade English/Language Arts. The coming week will be 7th grade English/Language Arts. The tests are untimed, and students are given as much time as they need. Both teachers and students agree that the test are very difficult and challenging, so please encourage your student do do their best.

The La Cumbre Drumline will be performing at the San Marcos High School gym on Tuesday, May 3rd at 7:00pm.  The event will feature all the local Drumline and Color Guard units.   Please come out and support our music students. They will be performing first right at 7:00pm.
