Principal's Message Update #36

Hi La Cumbre Community,

These are the last Updates, as we close out another great year. On behalf of the entire staff, we thank you for your participation and support of La Cumbre Junior High. We wish our 8th graders much success in high school, and we are excited to welcome back our 7th graders as more mature 8th graders in August.

Returning 7th graders and incoming 7th graders will receive more information over the summer, but the date for registration and schedule pick up is Wednesday, August 16 with 8th grade in the morning and 7th grade in the afternoon. Students with outstanding library books or textbooks will not receive a schedule until debts are cleared.

Congratulations to Randy Rodas, who won the essay contest sponsored by the Rotary North. He has also won 3rd place and a check for $300 at the District level and will be honored this coming Wednesday.

Congratulations to 8th graders who received outstanding achievement awards last Thursday. The Superintendent was on hand to support out amazing students. Congrats also to Core Know.edge students, who held their ceremony on Friday.

There will be regular school for 7th graders through Thursday, June 8th, a minimum day, and they will be dismissed at 11:20. 8th graders who are not eligible to participate in activities will also have regular school through Wednesday, June 7th.

Yearbooks will be distributed to students on Tuesday.

Graduation is at 10 a.m. sharp on the front lawn. You can park on the basketball courts and/or upper field.

If any 8th grades parents want to continue to receive Updates from La Cumbre next year, please email Shannon Curtis at scurtis@sbunified.org. Otherwise, you will be deleted from the database.

Again, we thank all of you and your students for an awesome year, and we look forward to a new group of students next year.

Have a Wonderful Summer.......and read, read, read!!

Good Luck 8th graders........we will miss you!!
