Hi La Cumbre Community,
Estos anuncios se pueden ver en Parent Square en Inglés y Español el martes

I hope that you had a nice long weekend and took the time to talk to your student about one or more Presidents of the United States.

Over the past week, high school counselors from all 3 high school came to program 8th graders for next year.On Tuesdayafternoon, most of our incoming 7th grade students visited La Cumbre and attended 3 mini lessons from junior high teachers. They also had the opportunity to enjoy the jazz band and drumline. Due to the wind and cold, students remained on campus rather than going to Oak Park.On Thursdayduring lunch, the San Marcos varsity soccer team played the La Cumbre soccer team to a 3-3 tie. In the afternoon, students were treated to an assembly on the history of blues music from the Blues Society and Notes for Notes. 8th grader Seku Fujino-Harmachis played in the jazz band. A collage of the event is attached. Mid-Quarter progress grades will be entered by teachers until 2/21 and then mailed home.

REMINDER:  Spring Picture Day is thisFriday, February 23. Flyers will be sent home on Tuesday or you can order online at lifetouch.com. Pictures will be taken only of students who return the envelopes or who have ordered online. Our ID # is DC927199Y0

The La Cumbre Yearbook is sponsoring an online See's fundraiser. No candy will be sold or given to students. Please visit http://www.yumraising.com/secure/la_yearbook_fundraiser71/?h=Ama_Dom5395&c=ot6343 through March 12 to order. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Domingues, Yearbook Advisor, at 687-0761.

We have installed locked suggestion, concerns, and self-harm reporting boxes in the main office and in the library. We will soon have an online reporting link for parents.

La Cumbre will hold a lockdown drill on Wednesday, February 21st, at 8:55 a.m.This is especially timely given the Florida tragedy.

It is very important that students keep the cover on their iPads to protect the screens. There is a long delay in repairing the iPads. Students should also not remove the keys on the keyboards, or parents will have to pay for replacement keyboards.

8th grade parents are invited on an informal, parent-led tour ofSanta BarbaraHigh School on Monday, March 5 at 8:30 a.m. It will go for about an hour. Meet at the front entrance to the school, across from the flagpole.
Please RSVP to Meredith Brace at mbrace55@gmail.com
